Video & AI analytics

Centralised video management for thousands of cameras, smart cameras that detect with GPS precision out in the field, ruggedised and explosion-proof cameras for the harshest environments — and NPSA-approved AI analytics that understands what the picture actually shows.

The chain

Four roles. One chain.

We never lock you into a single vendor's ecosystem. Every component is chosen for the job, and we handle the integration. What separates the four is where the analytics run — in the recorder, in the camera, or on a server watching someone else's streams.

Where the situation and the environment call for it, we stack the layers and bring the analytics from every system together in Davantis DFUSION. That gives one situational picture instead of four — and removes up to 96 % of the false alarms across the entire installation. It does not come in a box: it comes from engineers who know the systems well enough to make them work as one. The gain shows up in two places — the operator trusts the system, and response times on real events come down. What remains is handled in a single queue in the control room.

SightLogix SightSensor mounted on an outdoor pole, three lens apertures at the front

SightLogix SightSensor

When the camera itself is the sensor, the analytics never wait for the network.

SightSensor (HD/NS/TC) are thermal and dual-spectrum smart cameras with AI at the edge: detection happens inside the camera, on the sensor's own image — not on a video stream that first has to reach a server. That is why the system can tell a human from a leaf blower at several hundred metres, in darkness and rain.

We use SightLogix primarily for perimeter protection, where the detection range decides how many poles and cable trenches a site needs.

  • GPS geo-registered field of view — the system knows the target's actual position, size, direction and speed on the map, not just pixels in a picture
  • Up to 600 metres of detection per camera — which means up to 50 % fewer cameras, poles and metres of trenching
  • Documented 98 % hit rate — the share of real events that are detected. The other side of the same coin: more than 95 % of false alarms are eliminated
  • SightTracker PTZ control — any ONVIF-compatible PTZ camera follows the target's GPS position and re-centres ten times per second
  • Stable in weather and darkness — detection on heat signature, in rain, snow, fog and total darkness
  • Central administration — SightMonitor II and WebConfig configure and monitor the entire sensor estate

Tecnovideo explosion-proof camera in stainless steel mounted at an industrial facility

Tecnovideo TXP / TXPD

Built for the impossible — where ordinary enclosures are not allowed to hang.

For more than 25 years, Italian manufacturer Tecnovideo has perfected a single discipline: explosion-proof CCTV in AISI 316L stainless steel for the world's most demanding and corrosive environments. Focus Security is the Scandinavian distributor, and we use the cameras ourselves in oil, gas and critical infrastructure projects.

  • TXP series Ex-PTZ — 4K with 22x zoom or 5MP with 40x, in thermal and dual configuration (TXPD)
  • Wireless 5G Ex camera — where cabling into the zone is not feasible
  • AISI 316L stainless steel, IP66/67, with integrated wiper and washer system
  • Certified to ATEX, IECEx, UKCA, INMETRO and Class I Div 1
  • ONVIF — compatible with 25+ VMS platforms, including Command Enterprise

Where SightLogix covers range along the perimeter, Tecnovideo covers thermal inside the Ex zone — the two complement each other on the same site.

Verified alarms

The alarm centre should see incidents — not leaf blowers and cats.

False alarms are the biggest cost driver in video surveillance. DFUSION delivers verified alarms to the alarm centre: every detection is classified and documented with image evidence, so the operator can decide in seconds.

  • Deep learning + classic analytics — two engines fused for robust detection in weather, darkness and backlight
  • Detection at 25 % visibility — partially hidden people are still caught
  • Behavioural analysis — separates passing by from reconnaissance and loitering
  • Automatic PTZ follow-up — the dome camera tracks the target without an operator
  • Tamper detection — covering, blinding and moving the camera are flagged immediately
  • Open towards your VMS — integration with Milestone, Genetec and others; works with the cameras you already have

Davantis is also Secured by Design licensed and ISO 9001 certified.

Frequently asked questions

The questions we get most often about video and AI.

Do we have to replace cameras to adopt AI analytics?

No. Davantis DFUSION is camera agnostic and analyses the video stream from the cameras you already have — analogue or IP. That makes AI analytics a software upgrade, not a replacement project. If you need to detect far out in the field, SightLogix is the opposite choice: there the analytics are part of the camera, and you buy detection and optics as one unit.

What is the difference between analytics in the camera and analytics on a server?

Where the analytics run determines what they have to work with. SightLogix runs detection inside the camera itself, on the sensor's own image, and through GPS geo-registration it knows the target's actual position, size, direction and speed — not just pixels. March Networks runs its AI in the recorder, where the strength is search and retrieval across large archives. Davantis runs on a server or dedicated appliance and can therefore be layered on top of the cameras you already have. The three do not exclude each other: on a site with a perimeter it is common for SightLogix to detect out in the field while Davantis verifies alarms from the remaining cameras.

How far does SightLogix detect, and what does that save us?

Up to 600 metres per camera. The range is the entire business case: fewer cameras mean fewer poles, shorter cable trenches and fewer power points — typically up to 50 % fewer cameras than with conventional solutions. Documented detection accuracy is 98 %, with more than a 95 % reduction in false alarms. The details are on our perimeter protection page.

What does the NPSA approval mean in practice?

NPSA (formerly CPNI) is the UK government body for the protection of national security and critical infrastructure, and the approval involves independent testing under real conditions. Davantis DFUSION was the first AI-based video analytics to achieve it — an objective mark of quality that is directly relevant to organisations subject to national security legislation and the coming NIS2/CER requirements.

Can we search recordings in plain language?

Yes. March Networks AI Smart Search lets the operator search recordings using natural language and attributes — for example person, vehicle, colour and direction — instead of scrubbing through hours of video. The analysis runs in the recorder's own AI engine.

Do the cameras withstand offshore and industrial environments?

Tecnovideo specialises in exactly this: explosion-proof cameras, PTZ and thermal systems in AISI 316L stainless steel, with integrated wiper and washer systems and IP66/67 — certified to ATEX, IECEx, UKCA, INMETRO and Class I Div 1, and built for corrosive and marine environments. We use them ourselves in oil, gas and critical infrastructure projects, and we are the Scandinavian distributor for the full portfolio.

What about cyber security in the video system?

The video system is part of the IT surface and must be treated as such. March Networks has one of the industry's strongest cyber security regimes: signed firmware, a documented hardening guide and ongoing security advisories. We combine this with segmented, monitored infrastructure — see our solution for secure infrastructure.

Next step

What should your video actually detect?

Start with the detection objective — then we design the chain of camera, analytics and platform that meets it. We are happy to assist during the specification phase.
